We will say that it is indeed 15 hours total.

Lets see how nuts some of you really are.

I said $150

I got the Jurassic Park Trilogy for $65.

I could have bought the Die Hard Trilogy for $70.

Both at local stores, new.

For LOTR I'd probably pay $100, because I'm cheap and don't have any money...

I paid $150 for the Star Wars Trilogy (Definitive Collection - yeah right) on Laserdisc years ago. Would spend that amount on the LOTR DVDs. Anymore than that is too much - unless it came with a replica of Gandalf's staff or Frodo's Sting.

I'd pay $100 when they come out for 15 hours or so. If I could grab all now I'd pay at least $200.

I was at my friends house the other day and his dad votes for the academy on tons of movies. He used to get the movies on tape. Now he is getting them on DVD. Its insane. Over christmas break I watched Oceans Eleven, I AM SAM (hasn't even come out yet), the majestic, and ali on their HDTV 60 projection with 5.1 surround sound all in the comfort of their home. They even came in dvd cases that looked like they had been bought at BEst Buy. Pictures and credits were on the box. There were no special features or anything on the DVD you just put it in and pushed play but I was blown away that they would trust him with that kind of stuff, and he's basically a nobody in terms of academy voting. So I could easily believe that if all the movies are done in the trilogy that somewhere on this earth the DVD's of all the movies exist.

I am embarrassed to admit that I would, too, move heaven and earth for that right now

Since this thing won't come out until Spring 2004 (last movie will come out in December 2003), be sure to take some inflation into account ;)
