How much would something like this cost?

I'd love to have the carpet pulled up and our concrete floors done like this. . . maybe not this exact pattern . . .but this kind of general stuff. It seems they etch it with acid and stain it in patterns that makes it look like a different kind of material.

Any drawbacks to this? I'm thinking these would be easy to clean and delightful for an allergy sufferer. . .(as opposed to carpet) - and maybe less expensive than hardwood. . .

It would get cold in the winter and you couldn't comfortably lay down on the ground. I love laying on the ground.... so I need good carpet/pad.

From the site you linked to:

Simple stain applications that include cleanup and a final sealer coat and involve minimal slab preparation will cost about $2 to $4 per square foot. Larger projects typically have the lowest square-foot prices.
Stain applications with sawcut patterning and different colors between sawed lines cost $4 to $10 per square foot.
Applications with sawed patterns and multiple color buildups are priced at about $8 to $15 per square foot.
Sandblast stencil work, including stain, cleanup, and sealer applied only to the stenciled area, runs $12 to $25 per square foot of stencil area.

That wouldn't be too bad. My house is only 985 sq feet. . . not all of that is flooring. I would want the kitchen, 1 bedroom, living room, and bathroom done - not the guest bedroom or laundry room. . .so probably only 750 sq feet. . . assuming I want a simple pattern say whatever I could get for 6-7$ a square foot - around 4000-5000$. . .

That'd be worth it for some beautiful floors that are something I'd like. . .
