How much would it cost to replace the steering wheel?

I love my car (88 Camry :p, first car), but I just hate the steering wheel. It's too big for me and I just dont like the way it feels. I'll like to get one like the one in my parents Matrix (small and comfy). How much would it cost installed? $100?

$100 would be too much. It's about a 15 minute job to replace the wheel. Just get a puller and do it yourself.

Well, assuming all of the horn and cruise control (if you have it) wiring matches up, it shoudn't be that hard. They are a bitch to remove, though.....

No, but he's thinking about buying a new wheel, which will likely cost that much alone.

Hrmm depends...some steering wheels cost a lot of money, much more than 100. Since your car doesn't have airbags, install shouldn't be that big a problem, but finding an adapter ring and right sized steering wheel may prove to be time consuming.

I thought he meant just the labor. My bad. I don't know what a steering wheel costs offhand, but I suppose $100 for parts and labor wouldn't be too bad. I'd still just do it myself though.

I guess I'll just get a wheel cover that's comfy (if i can find one..)

steal a wheel froma kids' bike, and hook it up instead of your steering wheel, and set your horn up as a pull-cord.

cost me ~$150 to put a momo wheel in my car, including all the wiring (i.e. the horn), the adaptor and wheel.
I did the labor myself as the wheel is just held on by a single 22mm nut.

You could get one of those chain-link chromed steering wheels like in Cheech and Chong: Up in Smoke. That would be sweet.
