how much will this reduce my cpu temp???

I have the swiftech370 (aluminum base) fan with the orginial fan on it. I just ordered the Delta 60x38mm FFB0612EHE (flows at 50.5cfm aka 8000RPM) to replace the fan on the heatsink along with the 3 to 4pin adapter. I know this will be loud...but who cares...I just want to cool down my PC. I also ordered some Arctic Silver 3 Thermal Compound (getting rid of the generic stuff I have now).

Currently my cpu temp is 53C...which I think is kinf of high. When i'm really pounding on it, the temp raises to 56C and sometimes 57C.

How much do you all think the new fan and thermo compound will reduce my cpu temp? My case temp is a solid 26C thanks to a well flowing Antec 1080B case and 5 fans.

yeah i am wondering the same thing, my temps vary between 53C idle and 58C full load/gaming

however i was thinking of this case mod of potentially bringing down my cpu temp :Q

that's a little too much for me..i'm gonna see how this new fan and thermo compund does first before I do anything drastic.

what motherboard are you using? Socket-a temps are highly dependant on motherboard (readings vary from mb to mb).


Also, what is your system temp/case temp?

Mobo is a ASUS A7V-133 RAID

Case temp is 26C right now, averages 27C.

CPU temp is 53C right now, averages 55C.

you may see a couple of c drop versus what you're getting now. Asus boards typically read hihger than other motherboards (but not inaccurately higher... if anything, asus readings are far closer to true die temp than other mb's).

well i put in the new fan and artic silver 3, temp drops off th back, 5C.

Artic silver claims they need 72hours for full conductivity, i'll update you all in a few days.
