How Much Will This Hurt my SSD? [Answered!]

Hi.

As per another thread, I am thinking of dealing with a tiny/minor, but annoying issue I created in my SSD and can not fix, by doing a reverse clone to it from my backup WD Black where the issue is not present.

That would mean I would be writing around 93GBs of data to the SSD in one fell swoop.

How much will that hurt my SSD?

Thank you!

not much at all, writes in TBs are what matters. I have done many clones on my old X-25M and still intel's utility claims it is at 100% health.

Of course, the bigger the drive is, the less difference it makes.

I have 8 TB written to both my Samsung 840 EVO 1 TB drives and the health is 100%.

These writes were done in one month

stop worrying too much. by the time the drive will die maybe in 7 years from now, you will probably upgrade to the next best SSD

Well! I wish I had waited for you guys above to weigh in.....cause I would have felt less nauseated doing what I just did.....which I hadda do cause I could not stand it anymore.

I am back in my fully restore SDD! I open my cursors folders and there are the ICONS!

Even while feeling I was shortening the life of this wee SSD.....I did it; After cleaning and updating the apps on my WD Black, I ran my special Migrate to SDD app.

This time, cause SSD was already occupied, it hadda do its thing on boot. On boot, it first deleted the SSD partition, modified the partitioning style....and then copied the entirety of the Black. I kept muttering I'm SORRY! to the SSD as it progressed.

I then used Easy BCD as usual to afford dual boot......and here I am!

Only wasted most of a day trying to fix wut I broke without having to do this cause I was so paranoid.🙁

Heartfelt thanks to you guys above! What you- all said re perspective, made a world of difference!!!!

Yep, just ran online, in depth SMART in Speed Fan.....

All the attributes of your hard disk are above the S.M.A.R.T. thresholds set by the manufacturer. This is good.

The overall fitness for this drive is 100%.
The overall performance for this drive is 100%.

I drove myself crazy for half a day....for nuthin.:whiste:🙄
