Tons of mula, you need a new case and apple may charge an arm and a leg for it, also if you have problems after that they may say its b/c you drooped it. Another reason why metal is a bad case for a laptop

Well its actually all made out of plastic.

Thing is I'm actually insured against accidental damage to this, but theres a 10% excess of £25 - £100 on it, and I can't be without the laptop over the next six weeks because I'm in the last year of a law degree and have exams/coursework.

This is true :(

Everything appears to be working though.

My brother stuck his ipod nano in the wash. He took it back to the apple store and they said it was within 6 months of purchase so they handed him a new one for free no questions asked. Took less than 10 mintues.

Haha, no offense but...don't you think this information would have been better suited for your first post?

You ask how much it will cost to fix, receive an answer, and then say, "oh yeah, I have accidental damage insurance...blah...blah...blah"...

But you did own thescreensavers! Nice!

oh man, the heartache :(

That is going to be expensive unless you buy a broken mac of the same make off of ebay in which just the electronics were busted and not the case...

Lol well this is true, but the reason I wanted to know is because if it was inexpensive it might make more sense to pay for it myself, and then even if it was more expensive, it might be worth getting it fixed myself because I reckon the insurance people will take quite a while to do it.
