how much will DVI improve my LCD

just got my planar PV174 panel tonight, and like very much. Here is my question: Will the DVI interface improve the PQ/sharpness of only 2D or will it improve my 3D as well. If so what aspects of 3D. I have a GF3 vga only now and am considering DVI (GF3Ti200 or 8500) purchase.

There are varying results with different LCD monitors and video cards. Generally speaking, the DVI connection will give you sharper 2D text. My wife has a ViewSonic VG151b with a Geforce MX-200 with DVI out and it really looks great.
