Out of curiosity, on average, how much water do you drink daily?

I've been trying to drink more water, since I used to drink nearly none. Of course, I had water intake through other methods, but I've started to drink actual water daily. I've come to realize it is not easy to consume more water than I used to. I guess it is a habit-changer, so I bought myself a water bottle and keep it with me.

I probably average around the 8 glasses (64oz) that is the usual advice, except on weekends when it goes down to 2 or 3 glasses on average. My bottle is 25oz, so I drink 25oz when I go to the gym on lunch break, 25oz between lunch and quitting time, and usually almost another full bottle before bed. Sometimes less, depending on if I remember to drink it while I'm home.

now that i'm not lifting due to a shoulder injury, hardly any straight water. i used to drink like 100oz to 125oz while lifting (would fill my 28oz water bottle up 4-5 times during a workout). but at home or work i rarely drink straight water, which is a bad habit. i actually have a 32oz water bottle i keep at work that i used to fill up 3x a day, but recently it's been just diet soda. need to get out of the habit.

Close to a gallon. But I'm fairly active and don't really drink anything else except a cup of coffee in the morning. No milk, tea, soda, ect through the day.

Poll now up...

I usually drink a Gatorade while at work, and am trying to substitute water in place of the Gatorade. I also drink milk with my dinner, but I want this to be straight water only.

Maybe I should have upped the upper limit of the poll options... :hmm:

What's the difference between a garbanzo bean and a chickpea? I wouldn't pay 50 bucks to have a garbanzo bean on my face.

I drink about 2 liters a day.

Couldn't vote though because who the fuck measures out their water in cups?

he's not referring to a physical cup you nimrod, he's referring to the measurement of 8oz = 1 cup.

I can drink water from the faucet in my part of America. And it's easier to do that if drinking out of a receptacle, often referred to as a cup.

So it's not "literally every single person in America" then is it?

First world Americans drink out of pre-filled plastic water bottles bought from a store.

Fun fact, the poll cannot be changed after it is posted...

Guess you'll have to suck it up!

You consider it "first world" to have water quality so poor that it's not safe for consumption and requires you to buy something bottled thousands of miles away? That's a strange notion.

That is a strange notion and not something I would ever post about. :|

It's all OK now though. I voted.

Disregarding food and other drinks (coffee, pop), probably about a 16.9 fl oz bottle a day I'd say.

Easily over 72oz. I refill my liter nalgene at work at least once a day... plus any water drank during sports/gym after work. No matter what else is available (soda, juice, etc.) I'm almost always having water. Unless of course we're at a bar :awe:

Probably 95oz of straight water. Not counting smoothies or energy drinks. It's been hot and dry here. I don't exercise much but live without ac.

I get dry mouth at night so I keep a water bottle by the bed overnight so I don't have to get up.

Anyway, hopefully preventing kidney stones.

I live in Colorado. If you don't drink enough water here, you dry up and blow away. :p

I honestly think the whole "2 Gallons per day" is a bunch of bullshit. Honestly, if I have even a gallon of water I'll be taking a piss every 5 minutes.

I've never heard 2 gallons per day, that seems like a LOT. I've always heard 8 cups, or 64oz, which is 1/2 a gallon.
