My bill is going to be astronomical this month. I just have a bad feeling about it.

That aside, a normal bill for me is about 200 dollars every two months in the summer with the central air on. (about $70.00USD/mo)

I'm scared to open this months.....

We've had an average temperature of 90 for the last 3 weeks w/ well over 60% humidity making for a nasty heat index. I'm guessing it's going to be around $150. That's cooling a 1600 sq/ft townhouse @ 78 degrees.

I pay right around $100 U.S. every month...thats with my central air and all my appliances.

If you want to save cash, look into upgrading your appliances

2 room apartment, 3 people and we don't cook.

3 Computers, normal use of microwave for meals, use of refrigerator, no A/C, but we use fans.

~$40 after taxes

$30, and that's high for me. I used to be able to keep it in the low $20s. It's because I leave a few fans running all the time, my Tivo, and my new Harman/Kardon receiver, I suspect. My computer is also usually on, and I usually fall asleep watching my old 27 inch TV.

EDIT: I live by myself in a 1 BR apartment. I haven't bothered to buy an AC unit in the 3+ years I've lived here.

If you want to cut energy costs a bit, turn the AC up to 79, kill the AC if everyone's gone for more than 3-4 hours, and kill it at night and open windows whenever it's going to get cool at night. Judicious use of AC = big savings.

Geez, you guys and your big houses ;)

The house I grew up in was ~1200sq ft.

I can't wait to get my own house, a huge one at that.

Our electric bill is about $7 a day. SRP allows us to use a program called M-Power where we pay through a card and some little box that keeps track of about how much money we have. Anyways, the air has been broken for the oast two days so maybe about... $200 this month.

The last several months gas and electric have been right around $320 per month; last year at this time I think it was more like $260-$280. Don't have A/C, but I live alone and I'm comfortable enough anywhere between 45 and 95 degrees.

For the month of June, our electric/gas bill (same company, one statement) was only $47.80. Not too darn bad! Moderate A/C use too.

$120/mo for 4 people, 1700 sqft near Sacramento. We use the AC 4-5 hours a day, 2 of us leave our computers on most of the day.

My parents pay around $250/mo in the Bay Area.

$201.63 for this past month. In the winter it drops to maybe $30. I live in a 300-400 sq ft apartment. We had some heat waves recently and I really can't live without judicious use of AC.

Actually, good thing this thread made me check it... (it's on autopay), normal for summer would be around $125; if I really used 1016kWh in a month I would have had to replace a number of fuses. Both ACs are on the same 15A fuse. In fact, the whole apartment used to be on a 15A, but I replaced it with a 30A because it kept blowing when I tried to use both ACs and the microwave at the same time.
