It should be noted that the movies usually exaggerate how much money can be held in a small briefcase. From what I have heard, even in 100$ bills, a million takes a rather large amount of space.

To Sadam, if he is down to his last $750,000 he probably thought he was broke.
Considering his position, he was probably paying $1,000 for a ham sandwich during his last days.
So his helpers might have actually been his captors and would have turned him in when he went broke.
25 million $ is real incentive.
If I was there, I'd have pocketed a few stack of $100's as bonus. Oh yeah, and sneak some AK's back in the Army transport plane when I return a few years later.
Remember we're talking about "only" $750,000. Those $100 bills add up in a hurry. The first $200 or $3000 won't even strain your wallet. As nearly as I can tell by poking around the 'net, $100,000 in $100 bills is only a stack about 4 inches high. So $750,000 would be a single stack about 30 inches high. It only takes a small briefcase.
