How much voltage is too much?

My XP 2400+ runs on 1.65v default, how high can you go without harming it?
Two guys on some other forum said that their 2400+ collapsed after a few weeks on 1.8v, is that really normal?

Well, if you have a good HSF, such as those from Thermalright, there might be no problem going 1.85V, sometimes more. But if you are stuck with stock HSF, I highly doubt if you can go above 1.7V. Watch your temperature, and don't let it go above 40 degree idle, and 65 degree on load. (I would say 65 degree is about the edge)

the temperature is important but the voltage can kill processor even at very low temperatures, you should be careful, if lot of people reach 1.85v a don't see a cause for you to son't do that, but be careful and don't push it too high, cooling is important, but a very high voltage can kill the processor even a 30º
