I have a 2100XP and i hear people pumping 1.8V into them all the time to OC them. I don't have great air cooling, its decent (Volcano 9 or something I think with fan set on low for quietness).. How much voltage would be ok you guys think to put in there? I have 1.675 V right now. i want to go higher to get more OCed speeds

Many would not go above 1.85v which is what the mobo is capable off without any modding. I personally won't go above 1.85v either. :D

1.85 is about as high as I would want to go. Mine personally is only at 1.625 in the bios cause my ram is holding me back.

My MSI wont allow above 1.8v , which is 1.85v in practise as it overvolts. So 1.85v seems a safe bet, although it'll add significantly to the heat the CPU produces.

my Abit NF7-S reports my chip running at 47C and about 52C at load.

this is with light air cooling, 1.675 Volts.

I dont want to increase my fan speeds, should I go higher voltage? I know this chip can do more.. but i dont want more noise either.. safe to increase Voltage w/ out fan increase you think?

What speed is it at now?? 52c on load is good. I would increase it more till you get what you want without killing it. :D

Pushing more than 65C should be your threshold. :D

its running at 168 Mhz X 11.

168 is as high as my RAM will go....

65C is what load temp i should stop at?

I would stop at that load temp. Not sure about others. I used to stop at 60c but it was not enough for me. :D

Ive been running my 2100+ at 1.8v [OC'd to 2800+] for a full year, with temps being 52c idle and 58-9c load. So far not a single problem.
Id reccomend doing so if you can keep your temps under 60c at load.

at high voltage the heat increase is dramatic, which is why most can't do it. power consumption apparently jumps too. depends on good cooling. i'm running at 1.85v though.
