How much Vicodin is too much?

alright.. i've taken 4 vicodin before, but i tend to get sick with that much, and mixing with alcohol? sheer stupidity. i don't see you dying from it, but you probably managed to fvck up your liver quite a bit, to the point where you might want to drink heavily or take a lot of pain meds... ever.

6 regular strength Vicodin tablets means 3 full grams of acetaminophen.
If they were Vicodin ES, than that would be 4.5 grams of acetaminophen.

The absolute max per DAY of acetaminophen that anybody should EVER take is 4 grams.
Any more than that, and you can cause serious irreparable damage to your liver.

This assumes no alcohol consumption at all.
Alcohol is also toxic to the liver.

It is possible to cause hepatoxicity with just a "regular dose" of Tylenol (1 gram of acetaminophen) combined with a few drinks (I don't mean "a case of beer" I mean just a few, as in 3 or 4 beers)

Doing something like combining 3+ grams of acetaminophen AND 500ml of 80 proof liquor in the same day is EXTREMELY dangerous and stupid. You are really really gambling with your life. Check in to a hospital and have them pump your stomache. For your sake, hopefully you aren't too late.

I don't give a crap if some idiot junkie wants to get high, but at least put some thought in before you start mixing stupid combinations of stuff together.

I don't recommend ever taking any controlled substances without a legal prescription from a doctor and a legit reason to take it, but if you are going to dabble in that crap, then make damn sure to get something with no acetaminophen in it. Something along the lines of Booze + Vicoprofen (which has Ibuprofen instead of Acetaminophen) is less likely to cause a painful death (though I'm sure the combination is gonna be pretty hard on your stomach, you're risking ulcers instead of death.)




Edit: I don't know if this is possible at all, but perhaps it would be a good idea to have a moderator get the IP addy of the OP and contact the OP's ISP that the OP has overdosed on an Acetaminophen and Alcohol combination (Assuming they are a 24 hour ISP), and to have the ISP either give the OP's address, or contact the local 911 center to get an ambulance out to him.) If he lets this go until tomorrow, he may potentially be a corpse.

I've been drinking that much lately, along with taking some nose candy to stay up at night, and was told Vicodin can knock you out enough to prevent dreaming, or at least remebering the dreams. It worked with regards to that.

No, I won't be taking any more while drinking this much, though I'll have to find some combination of daytime/nighttime drugs that won't kill me. If Vicodin works at night, what's good during the day?
