Huh... I doubt I've heard it more than a handful of times in normal conversation ever. I've seen it printed not much more.

A lot. Every once in a while as I'm taking out the trash I make a mental note of how much just two people are generating, and think about how many people there are generating roughly the same, and I feel bad.

The big trash bin isn't always filled every week though, sometimes I can skip a week depending on how many other cleanup projects I'm doing. Recycling absolutely needs to go out every 2 weeks, cardboard boxes add up fast.
