weekday lunch special 11am-5pm

buy at least $7 in food, and play for free.

so i ordered an appetizer, burger and a coke (free refills). i drank 6 glasses.

the place wasnt that crowded.

i thought of 30% ($3) tip but that seemed low since he waited on me for 6hrs. he was friendly and prompt.

what's the etiquette for tipping when you've basically camped out at a place?

It's not so much the food you ordered if you were holding up one of his tables. If he was just bringing you stuff as you were standing then you can do the 15%, but if you tied up a table all day that's where the larger tips take place.

Many places will make you give up a table which I think sucks...but alot get a table order no food just to have a spot to throw their crap.

You said the place wasn't crowded, so I'm going on the assumption that you weren't detracting from the waiter's potential tip amount by holding the table for six hours. I'd say $5-10 would be more than enough.

I am in agreement with $10, when you spend that long somewhere and get good service it's not about percentages anymore. Think about it: <$5 for good service for that long? That's just cheap.

You were there for 6 hours and ordered only $7 in food...there's something wrong with that picture in itself.
