id like to sell off my X2 4200 used to someone, and was wondering what kind of range i should see. Ive had it since last march and no OC.

I was thinking about jumping up to the X2 4800 for now instead of getting all new mobo to support am2 or go intel.

AT doesn't allow price checks. Search the FS forums or ebay or craigslist to see what people are selling them for.

I sold a s939 4200+ a few weeks ago for $145. Probably underpriced, but it sold quickly.

Considering you can buy brand new retail box ones with HSF for $189 I think you did well getting $145 for a used one. I think you got lucky and I would not excpect used ones to sell for that much!!!!

Pour the coals to your 4200+ and save up for an Intel rig (like I'm doing ;) ). You'll be dissappointed if you upgrade to 4800+ coming from 4200+.....

Agreed. I've yet to see a 4200 that couldn't run at 2.4 Ghz, which is the same speed as a 4800. The L2 cache difference you wouldn't notice. You'd then have an extra $300 to put toward whatever you were planning on building.

Right when I upgraded to dual cores 4800+ from single core 3500+ I don't see any performance gains..It is like I am running at 3500+ speed except that I can run more apps.
