well its between the engine and transmission so it may be hard for the do it yourelfer. a mechanic is the safest way to go about this.

Had your clutch changed at the Ferrari dealer?

Mine was about $300 (parts, labor included) - 93 Accord.

And don't try to DIY, unless you have extensive experience.

Yeah, unless you know what you're doing I wouldn't try it. If its 2wd then it shouldn't be too terribly hard. I imagine if it was 4wd you'd be disconnecting the front driveshaft and have the extra bulk/weight of transfer case to deal with?

Changing a clutch is not exactly that bad, but it is not something to cut your teeth on, or you will never want to work on cars again :p

I paid $270 just for my clutch. I kinda doubt $300. Even assuming a rebuilt clutch (if they even make them for accords) at $99 or so, that would mean $200 for pulling and re-installing your trans, and machining your flywheel. Sorry, but I think you are remembering incorrectly.

Well, it was 4 years ago, but I remember it being ~$300-350. I also remember the clutch being <$200 closer to $150, I may be wrong, though. Of course, this was not a dealer job. Can't complain, that clutch has put up with 100K LA traffic miles.

There's a guy here in Gainesville who will charge about $150 for labor..plus whatever the clutch cost. I found one for $183-ish..OEM Toyota IIRC, but yours might be a bit more expensive...or cheaper..dunno.

Well, my clutch job cost me $900, $600 for the upgraded clutch, OE throwout bearing, trans fluid, resurfaced flywheel, etc. ~$300 labor.

Pretty much the going rate for a ACT2600 on a DSM.

EDIT: anything under $200 for labor is unheard of in my area for a clutch.

Man, a clutch on those Accords is a royal pain. I would know, I've done it on my 91. And you prolly got a crap clutch because any good one (read: non-rebuilt) will cost about $200+ just for the pressure plate/disk. Factor in another ~$45 for resurfacing the flywheel and there's parts right there. The dealer quoted me $1200 for that job. A friend and I did it in about 8 hours. Definitely not something to attempt if you've never done it before.

damn dude,
my act2600 was only about 500 total. I got off dsmtrader for about 200 bucks and the labor was ~300.
