How much time have you spent on the internet in your LIFE?

So i was running some numbers and came up with a CONSERVATIVE estimate, i really started using the net to a greater extent when i got cable internet exactly 6 years ago, so lets say I average about 4hrs of internetting a day (including usage at work) multiply that by 365 and then by 6 and you have a total of 8760 hrs which is exactly ONE CONTINOUS YEAR OF INTERNET USAGE (mind you this is a conservative estimate) I am stunned and have vowed to stop wasting my life on the net.

Its sad once you really look at it isn't it? I believe I spend a little more time than that on here. I need to stop as well.

it depends on how you use your time on the net... if its all productive time spent or time that gives you enjoyment...its not a bad thing. Its your Life dont let other ppl's views on life interfere with yours

At least 2 years ... probably more, I am considering All time spent online gaming, all time spend on IRC, all time spent surfing, etc .....

I've been heavily addicted to the net and online 5+ hours per day since I built my own PC and got a modem in 1996. Before that I used the internet about 1 to 2 hours per day on my fathers PC and connection (more upon the onset of "Kali") (I first went online when I was like 12 or 13 I think, it was through Prodigy when they first started to offer internet access. I don't remember what year that was for certain.)

During college I spent on average 3-4 hours a day on my comp, not necessarily online. Lots of gaming, music downloads, watching movies, working on papers. I'd say 2 hours a day on the 'net back then. Before college almost no time (no access at home), so 3 years of that plus 3 years after, I spent about 3-4 hours a day online.

6570 or so, I'm betting it's higher though. Over the course of a month I spend about a day and a half playing CSS alone on my main server, that's a month out of the year playing CSS, times 5 years or so I've been gaming, plus all the surfing.

🙁

Hmmmm ... I'm sure I'm under ...

8 hrs a day ... x 5 days = 40 hours minimum x 4 years full time work = 8000
at least 1000 in counterstrike ...
maybe average out 4hrs x 330 from 95-2001 = 7920

I know I worked like 3 hours every day after school in high school ... 3hrs x 5days x 3 yrs ... then there were the various side projects I've done ...

Hell, I'm probably almost double what my estimate is ...

I watch no TV except Lost which I download anyway, so even though I've spent an insane amount of time online, I don't feel quite as bad considering how many people sit in front of the idiot box all day. But considering I remember working on Angelfire pages when I was 11 (I'm almost 20), that's still a sh*t-ton. Plus the amount of online gaming time I've done is incredible. I'd say QW DM/CTF/TF is king, but D2 and 'Strike took a ton of time. Actually about 10 other games I played the hell out of too. 😱
