How much time do I have to return my defective IBM 75gxp?

Bought it back in April. Bad sectors started developing in May.

Isn't there like a three year warranty?

3yrs from the DOP or date code on the drive itself, unless it is an OEM mfg (Dell, Compaq, GW2K, etc) drive that came out of their system. You would then need to contact the OEM vendor for support.

Before returning your hard drive...

I think IBM needs to boost reliability in their hard drives. My friend just got a brand new 60gxp to add to his current system. After loading his data on it, a few days later the hard drive suddenly started saying it's the wrong format and all his data was lost.

He rma'ed it. I just think there's something wrong with hard drives that go bad so soon.

Well like i said once again more IBM 75 and IBM 60 gxp series HDs failing. Not a big surprise. I should be expecting the IBM 120 gxp series soon. I know it will take a while to know if they are stable or not. Like 6 months maybe if not more. Well lets see we will have some more IBM 75 and 60 gxp series HDs failing in here soon again i am sure.
