How much tea do you drink (camellia sinensis sinensis and camellia sinensis assamica only)

There are many varieties of what traditionally has been called "tea." Each with certain characteristics, benefits and levels of caffeine. So no poll, just spill your guts - regarding regular tea.

I like to get bottled sweet tea and I'll go 6 pack of 500ml (about 17 fl. oz) Gold Peak per day. But most times I will mix it up with fruit drinks. Real fruit drinks, not Koolaid, Gatorade, etc.

I tend to drink it more in the winter. I maybe average two pots a week through the cold weather months. Coffee is my main drink. The tea is because I'm overstocked, and it's easy to make at night after I've had my day's pot of coffee.

Pretty much one cup every morning - English Breakfast or Earl Gray or sometimes a Chai. Here and there an herbal tea but that is not in these categories.

500-1400ml a day. English breakfast, Assam or occasionally green tea or black tea with some cinnamon.

Ended up getting a Breville loose leaf maker with automatic and programmable basket control. It's nice to wake up to a fresh pot

@Exterous That's quite nice. But being the cheap bastard I am, I'd probably go with one of cheap knockoffs and keep about $200 and change. But I do love Breville's products although the only one I actually own is a toaster.

I'm really not much of a tea (or anything) aficionado. So while putting a tea bag in some water and then nuking the AF out of it probably sends chills up and down your spine, it's still "tea" . . . to me. :) I've always admitted that I have no taste.

Well that was a bit more related to my laziness than taste. Programmable heat and steep duration? Yes please. Also wanted an all glass container and something with not terrible reviews. Two and a half years of daily use and the only downside has been that the clock slightly drifts overtime. So I have to adjust it about once ever other month so my tea is ready when I wake up

I make pitchers of green ice-tea and drink that all the time.

Also I usually have a cup of English or Irish Breakfast tea in the morning. My favorite "large-box" (ie: cheap) tea brand is Red Rose.

ALSO I feel it's important to mention at this juncture that water boils at the exact same temperature in a stained mug inside a filthy $40 microwave, that it does in the finest irreplaceable Wedgewood china tea-pot!

;)

I take a cup of green tea to work every day during the week. I prefer coffee, but can only drink about one cup in the morning now because it messes with my stomach.

Coffee is my main drink but if I'm already caffeinated or the thought of more coffee doesn't appeal to me (maybe the same thing), I once in while prepare ~12oz hot tea in a large mug. I sometimes don't for months, other times maybe daily or more. More likely in cold weather. I'll even prepare iced tea in warm/hot weather, with some lemon juice.

I like a bit of stevia powder instead of sugar in my tea. Usually I use a Lipton tea bag, but I have quite a variety of other tea, mostly loose, mostly left here by former housemates from 2+ decades ago. I find that tea retains its power even after all those years.

I have infusers if I go for the loose stuff. I do NOT have a tea pot.

I also have herbal tea bags I go to in colder weather but haven't in the last year: Celestial Seasonings Fruit Sampler 6 pack

I'll go for tea (any of those mentioned above) if I have an upper respiratory infection because coffee has zero appeal to me when that happens. I haven't been sick since just before the pandemic. ;)

I need to stop my autoship of Bigelow OOlong.

Ooooh I've been slacking on Oolong. I know I've had some good stuff before.

Next time we order from the co-op I'll throw in an order for a small box of Oolong tea. Glad you mentioned that.

How you say "Are you fucking retarded?!" without saying are you fucking retarded?! :^D

I've had that brand before, but not that particular style, and it was good.

edit:
I take that back. I actually have that brand in that style in my cabinet. Haven't had it in awhile, but I like it a lot.

Except for at dim sum, I didn't drink tea for at least a decade until recently. Now it's several cups a day.

Unless someone talks me out of it, will order the following Oolong tea soon:
i have found that particular oolong to taste slightly dirt-like. Cant think of a better way to say it. Like actual soil. wasnt a fan.
My go to is bigelow for oolong.

speaking of tea: Red Rose in Canada used to include little porcelain figurines in the box. My mom must have had 20 or 30 of them at one time. I haven't seen them in decades.
