how much swap space needed for running Adobe Photoshop/Illistrator

I use Adobe Photoshop and Illistrator for professional use and want it to operate at it's optamal speed. I only have 256meg of RDRAM on my P4 rig. I notice that these things take a very long time to load. Would it be best to create a whole new partition and dedicate it to "swap"? I am running Windows XP Pro.

well you want it to swap as less as possible, putting it on another partition, eh it wont improve perf that if at all, i say test it out for yourself, matching mem, then half mem, then 1.5 mem ... but first, if this is for professional use, is there anyway you can upgrade the memory substantially? ..
