How much speed lost by using 1 GIG stick instead of 2X512

So I'm putting together a PC in the near future, and I'm trying to budget myself. I'm pretty sure I'd like the DFI nForce4 Ultra (939) LanParty UT Ultra-D. And eventually I'd like to have 2X1GIG sticks of RAM, probably OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Platinum

But I don't think I can afford the two sticks of RAM right now so I was thinking about picking up 1XGIG stick now and 1 later. What type of performance loss would I have by running 1XGIG stick instead of 2X512 sticks with the same timings etc...

Thanks!

wow, that is surprising, I had thought it would be more since the RAM would be unable to operate in dual channel

It's not all that bad, check out the overclocking forum, there's a thread up there about ram timings at the moment.
