So I realized that I was running out of space on my HDD as my games now take up about 700GB so it is time to start playing and finishing some of my backlog, so I thought I would just ask how much do other peoples games take off there HDD too.

I wouldn't install all the games I intend to play as soon as I buy them but I have bad broadband it is best if I download it and hope to play it later.

10-50GB. I usually just have the games I'm playing in the hard drive (or in my case, SSD). When I finish a game I uninstall it immediately. My library is huge, but it's in Steam mostly (some in others like Gamersgate, Amazon digital, etc), and I only install a game when I'm going to play it... if I like it, I play it until I finish it, if I don't like it, I uninstall it. Obvious exceptions for games that don't "end" like Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis 4, they're always in the SSD.

3gb for blacklight, 500mb for quake, 1 gb for starbound.

keeping in the tradition of making threads about ME, i spoke of this a few years ago; after a traumatic HD crash and even more traumatic HD recovery, i realized i was hoarding media i would never use, or that i had already used to satisfaction (i.e memorized). i re-deleted everything.

since then i don't keep anything i'm not using; all those simpsons episodes, black and white foreign films my friends will never watch, the music i've listened to since i was 13 and know by heart, games, mounds of wallpaper, pornos, ebooks ...

i keep my pc clean. once i'm done with something (i.e not likely to use it in a week or more) i take it off.

50-100GB. Every 6 months or so I go through and clear a few games out I know I'll never play again.

If I end up getting Wolfenstein, that will probably tip me over the 100gb mark.

i picked 400-600GB, although they are split up. I have the games I play most often on my 1TB ssd (probably about 400GB on there) and then the other games I don't play so much on a 500GB HDD (maybe about 150GB there)

I have 5.75TB of space over 4 HDs/SSDs, not counting my 120GB SSD I use for just the operating system. Of that 5.75TB, 2.25TB of it is in use, with I estimate 98% of the used space is due to games.

Unlike others, I don't uninstall games I'm either not playing, completed or don't like (usually). I never know when the bug is going to hit for a particular game and I don't want the hassle of having to re-install. Additionally, if I have to re-install there is a very good chance I'll decide not to play the game afterall. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad. lol.

Thing is games are using so much space these days, Wolfenstein, Titanfall, BF3/4, Assassin's Creed they all take up at least 25GB each! just with my multiplayer games that I go to on a regular basis I have at least 400GB in them alone :/

I'm kind of in the same area but I uninstall games I have completed. When I have completed the story or done what I want with the game it gets uninstalled as I don't want it taking up space.

I have them installed as I get interested (but doesn't guarantee I will play it) and I have more than 120 games just on steam. I think I have about 50-60 of those installed. So roughly about 400GB.

I don't have every game installed, but around ~500-600GB for the ones I do play.

~50gb-100gb range depending upon how many are installed at the time.

Since most games are stored on "the cloud" [steam, gog, amazon, etc] I usually delete the game once I've finished.

I think that is what almost everyone does these days except people without decent internet connections, takes me overnight to download 25gb'.

So wait... is this asking how much space your gaming library takes up currently; or, how much space your gaming library would take if you actually downloaded your entire library?

I voted in context of the former. I only have a 2TB hard drive to fit my games on, which is why I selected the 1.5TB-2TB option.

If I were to download and install my entire Steam library, I suspect it would require upwards of 8TB of hard drive space.

Yes it is for the amount you have on now, if I had all my games on my HDD I reckon I would be into 3TB of space.

EDIT: Just seen you have reviewed Splinter Cell:Blacklist, that is also on my backlog ;)

Yeah, I have no idea how much everything would take up if I installed it. My game HDD is 1TB though, and I've uninstalled a couple things to make room for others recently. So far haven't felt the need to get a bigger drive.

Currently, about 675GBs through Steam. Another 20 through GoG. And my old game CD wallet hasn't moved from the book shelf in 4 years, so I couldn't say how many GBs would be added from that.

Not sure. I use Steam Mover to transfer stuff back and forth between my TB drive and my SSD and don't really look at the totals.
