List the software you've actually paid for that's installed on your machine. If you got it for free, regardless of the method, don't list it. I realize that linux users probably wont list anything, I just want to see how much software people actually buy. It'd also be cool if you could separate games and other apps, just to see what kind of software people buy.

On this machine I've bought:

Dreamweaver MX
Quicktime Pro
Fetch (FTP client)
Toast (CD Burning App)
BBEdit (Text Editor)
MS Office

And the OS< but that came with the machine, so I didn't pay separately for it.

Really, it's not that much software. Only 6 titles, How much software do you guys buy?

Office came free with old machine.
Nero came free with CD-RW
All games have been paid for (well, maybe 3 or so haven't)
Everything else hasn't (OS, Dreamweaver, PSP, Partition Magic, etc)

So, umm, I paid for pretty much all my games :)
Probably 25+ games.

I bought my XP Pro cd from the MS Reseller program for 10 bucks, I got my previous version of xp Home and my current version of Office XP from my dad's friend for cheap through the MS Employee Store because he works for MS :D Then I have Serious Sam 1 and 2 and Quake 3 Arena. That's it. The rest of my stuff I've gotten for "free" ;)

MS Windows XP Pro
Norton AV
MS Office
and assorted games.

Basically the "office essentials". The rest of the readers, players, etc. are free or shareware.

Win2kpro

Aoe2
Aoe2: Conquerers
HAlflife
Shogun Total War
NOLF 1
The Sims
Warcraft 2

Thats it - the rest came from my dad's work...and I also sometimes use Linux

for games I only really play HL/Shogun (and the occasional WC3/Aoe2 game but WC3 is my friend's game)

for gaming I'm more of a console person = specifically PS2 RPGS

But wow...not a lot of things I've bought - and it isn't piracy...its just free stuff...my virus scan is AVG, I use AIM, I use SmartFTP, instead of buying bleem i have EpsxE, Instead of buying musicmatch i use winamp...

I have a LOT more games on my PC but most are Demos - I'm the type that is completely satisfied by the UT2k3 Demo and doesn't need the real game...

...and I have a lot of video encoding programs that were free (virtualdub, etc.)

and snes games on the pc are fun too ;)

Wow I never knew though I actually bought so little! Though it'd be more if we counted bundles (burner bundle, dvd bundle, etc.)

ouchie, the only things I have installed now that I "paid" for would be the bundled Nero 5.5 and PowerDVD XP that came with my burner.

My OS was a academic NFR license, I use the OpenOffice suite, and AVG 6.0 for anti-virus.

gamewise, I plan to buy Halo for PC, Half-Life 2, and Doom3 in the forseeable future. And I'm also contemplating Norton Anti-virus.

shadowbane and thats it

i know i'm gunna get flamed for this but i don't care. i have photoshop 7.0 installed on my machine. i have no idea how to use it, the only thing i use it for is viewing .tga files. i'm sure theres lots of other free/open source programs that will open them but i can get a copy of photshop faster than i can find something free to use. adobe does not lose money to me, i would have never paid the 300 or whatever it costs even if i couldn't get a copy. it was there and i knew it would do what i needed to do. even if i couldn't get it i really don't care, i'd just find something else.

Office XP <-- $45 from the U of M computer showcase
Windows XP Pro <-- $45 from the U of M computer showcase

Everything else is either open source or free software.
