I'm thinking the Northwood would be slightly faster clock/clock but by how much? I know the celerons can overclock further than northwoods I'm tempted to pick one up for ~$50...

They are also utilizing different Sockets, and a Cedar Mill motherboard could potentially support DDR2 and Core 2 Duo. I have a Cedar Mill Celeron myself but I dunno how much farther I have for headroom, I haven't really pushed the chip to it's limit.

The Celeron would be alot slower than a P4C. They're considerably slower than the P4E's and P4D's, clock for clock, and every P4 after the P4C has been slower clock for clock. Now, if you're comparing the Cedarmill Celerons to a Northwood P4A, then they'd likely be at least as fast, clock for clock.
