Happy, did you go to school, like... ever? In the BC2 picture, the HD6870 is 17% slower than a GTX570. In the overall TPU picture at 1920x1200 the HD6870 is 26% slower than a GTX570...

OP-> Overview at AT: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/290?vs=306

EDIT: Strange, the benchmark shows 55.9 FPS, the chart shows 58.7... Hmm...

Yeah I am replacing my GTX570 which is very loud with a 6870 O/C with an artic cooling twin turbo on it making it dead quiet at load or idle. And I only game on BC2 at 1920x1200 with 16X AF and 4X AA. I'm assuming that the 6870 can handle that. I also use Vysnc...

It depends on what perspective you are looking at this from. If you are upgrading from a 6870 to a gtx570, then the techpower overall shows the gtx570 is 35% faster. If you downgrade from a gtx570 to a 6870, then the 6870 will be 26% slower than what you were experiencing with a gtx570.

Doesn't the twin turbo fit on the 570?

The gtx 570 is a reference model ? Those are supposed to be fairly quiet for blower fans. I'd consider one of the new 'quieter' cases. With doors and foam etc.
I like the looks of this one for the money, but its tight on length of video cards.

Why is anyone talking percentages? The 6870 runs @ ~60fps avg, max iq, w/4AA. That's at stock speeds. Should play perfectly fine.

Just a thought though, can't you get a custom cooler for your 570 for less than you would spend on your 6870 w/custom cooler and achieve the same objective? Or are you possibly able to just do an even swap, stock 570 for 6870 w/cooler? That's the only way I'd consider it. The 6870 is definitely a lower tier level of performance, overall, to the 570.

In some games I cant even tell the difference on my i5 rig between my 570 and 6870. But in others like Shogun 2, Dirt 2, Dawn of War Retribution, Arma 2, Metro 2033, Just Cause 2, and Starcraft 2 its night and day . Dont they make custom coolers for the HD 570?
