How much should this job pay?

I posted this in OT, but i thought it would be better served over here.. so I apologize for the double post...

link

this is a link to a cached job description for an edge manager at Savvis..

I have the following certs

A+
Network+
Server+
Security+
iNet+
MCP 2000 - Win2k Pro admin (210)
MCP 2000 - Win2k Server admin (210)
MCP 2000 - Active Directory (217)
MCP 2000 - Network Admin (218)
MCSA 2000
CIW-A

How much should I ask for? How much should I expect? My brother, who works at Savvis, says the edge managers are very well paid. He makes about $35k annually doing front line tech support... His manager told me edge managers make over $10k more per year than tech support....

i'm hoping to clear $4k per month after taxes... I usually pay out about 20% gross income to the tax gods..

I think you would get better info if you were to go over to monster.com and such places. They have those job calculators that report what jobs pay what in different reas of the country. Basically you plug in the area(St. Loius) and then the job/career (Edge Manager) and it tells you the average min and maxes people in that career get paid for that area.

Sadly a lot of these positions are written by someone who really doesnt know what the job requires so they list everything possible. Why not add Space Shuttle Designer to the mix.

My though ask for more than you want and let them talk to down they will never talk you up.

Ok, big question here... Do you have any experience?

According to the ad:

Desired skills:
· Advanced UNIX support background.
· Host and network based firewalls

Education or Equivalent Experience:
· Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment
· Bachelor?s degree
· Trade School degree/certificates

Just from taking a guess, this is close to an entry level position. It is strange that the minimum Exp. is only 1 year, since one of the desired skills is "Advanced Unix Support"

Lol...I am going on 8 years exp now, just took my first M$ exam. As expected, it was just a formality...
