How much should I spend on a bday gift?

Ok....I dated this chick like a year ago once. We went out 2 weeks ago for lunch and sorta *hooked up* last week on an afternoon. I may get to see her this week sometime, but I have to go out of town next week so I won't see her....her bday is the day I get back from my trip so I'm gonna get her a gift while I'm away. How much should I cap my spending? $10 - $20 - $30? She's like an 8.5 out of 10 so I wanna keep her around, but don't wanna screw things up by overdoing it. We're not bf/gf...just dating. Advice please. 😛
