at my current job, the hh got 12% commission base on my salary
(paid by the hospital) and i got a 5k signon bonus

so i'm interviewing w/ 2 places tomorrow....salary 10% more, slightly longer commute...

this time i figure i should get a cut of the hh's commision
(since i'm not in job hunting mode as it's summer, and vacation time)
and since the hospital is not offering a signon.....i should get a cut of the hh's
else he get a big fat ZERO

edit: make no mistake, i am a greedy bastard bwahahahahahah

Greed can also get you a black mark within the industry. Be careful.

do you really expect your headhunter to look for jobs for you next time if you are cutting down his profits?

actually hh and his colleagues been coldcalling me since last october and i'm
not even looking right now....

reread the topic title, i'm not asking if, it's how much
it's not gonna be an an easy ~15k commission for him
(for what? fwd my email and setting up the interview)

hahah the hh can't blacklist me......this is call negotiations
hell i can screw him and and call my former hh guy and "give" him the commision

so my future boss told me the hh is getting 20k commission and told me to get a chunk of it as the human resource dept actually had my resume on file, only 1.5 yrs ago i got tired of playing fone tag w/ HR person

the boss even approved a 4 week unpaid leave in mid oct - nov....pretty awesome

Wait, you're essentially asking for the reward that someone else is entitled to for the work that they've done. If you want to get a headhunter's commission, then become a headhunter. The headhunter gets the commission for a reason. Don't be a jerk.

First of all, knob gobble, I do tip. If you would have read the thread and if you'd stop being a total asswipe, you'd know that. That insult really isn't an insult since it doesn't apply to me.

Secondly, I wouldn't, for ONE SECOND, ever consider asking a headhunter for part of their commission for hiring me. They earned it, not me. And I'll be damned if I don't fire someone who I just hired for asking for part of MY commission.

I read the thread and you made your opinion quite clear. The only insult here is stiffing a person who makes less than minimum wage.

If the commission were sitting on the head hunter's table in cash, it'd take you about half a second to snatch it up and leave.

You obviously didn't read the thread.

Just because you're a slimy scumbag doesn't mean everyone else is. I wouldn't touch it. I respect hard work and I respect rewards given to other people for it. In that same thought, I don't respect windfalls and I don't like taking money that I didn't earn.

it's SOP for hh agencies to give bonuses if the prospective employer doesn't
it's a way to convince/attract/bribe workers who're comfortable in their routine/job
to explore

hell i told him the new place is "ok", which is exactly what it is....
for 4.5k extra salary/yr + bonus....i'm giving up seniority @ a job i can do w/
relative ease but others in the same dept struggle w/......

i'm lookin at 7.5k as a min......else maybe tell the boss to have HR bring me in
under a different title ....it's summer i'm not in a hurry to go anywhere

i wouldn't call telemarketing hardwork, repetitive maybe

There's a difference between taking something that's offered to you and demanding a chunk of someone else's reward. From your posts in this thread, it didn't seem like you were being offered anything - it seems like you are asking whether you should demand a chunk of the headhunter's commission for hiring you, which is wrong.

What I read is that you don't tip for average service.

Quoting Nik from the thread where he says he always tips....
You don't deserve anything other than a paycheck. You're a fvcking ape if you think you deserve to receive any money other than what's on the ticket from me and what's on your paycheck from your employer. I earned my money goddamnit and just because you chose to take a job driving around in no way entitles me to pay you anything more than what's on the ticket. Fvck off.
Yeah, stiffing a guy who makes $3 an hour because he feels he deserves a tip for doing a good job in the service industry really makes you look good. Not tipping is just as bad as being a snitch in my book.. and you're both.

Well let's just continue to thread crap, since all you guys are interested in is a flamewar, shall we?

Yes, you are correct. I do not tip for average service. That's what they get a paycheck for.

Well your whole premise is off. You would know this if you read the entire thread.

Oh cool, so they'll probably offer a signing bonus. Now you won't have to "shake down [your] headhunter" :p

My whole premise is off even though you just admitted to Howard that I was correct...

I did miss a small part though. You also blame your cheap-assedness on some ex-girlfriend. But, is it really fair for people serving you to receive the negative end of your "I'll take anything I can get" attitude when choosing girlfriends? No.

Do you not understand the concept of "for average service"? Come on... you're not really that dumb are you?

I don't blame "cheap-assedness" on any ex-girlfriend. If you would have READ THE THREAD like I keep telling you to do, you'd see that I said that I felt that way long before dating someone who chose to work in the service industry.

I like how you put words in my mouth and conveniently omit portions of my posts that prove you're wrong, though. Shows that you're just a trolling scumbag, like I already know you are. You've already been banned once for following me around in threads, trolling and thread crapping. Did you not learn your lesson?

Uhh, no.. I've only banned once for political reasons, but like Christ I have risen.
