i have a Aopen G4 Mx440 video card and i haven't overclocked it yet
it has the tab to overclock the core clock frequency and the memory clock frequency
how much can it handle and how much performance gain would i get?

well you can start in 5mhz incriments. When you start seeing artifacts bring it down some. You'll probably be able to get 1/2 the overclock on the core that you'll get with memory. But with a card that slow i dont say you'd notice any performace difference and it's not really worth it.

Until you smell smoke, then just a little bit more...

I'm a nOOb, been reading up. I have a 9700Pro AIW I mistakingly bought without the adapter to connect to my television (long story). What I was planning was running a benchmark like 3dMark between clock adjustments to determine optimal settings. My experience with o/c'ing is you start default, work your way up in small increments running a number of programs to verify no instabilities. I'd planned a similar strategy with the 9700Pro AIW sitting in my closet waiting for the cable to connect it to my system D: . God I hate EGay.
