How much $$ should I expect to shell out for this?

Flash-based photography website.

$100, 200, 500? Sure not more than $500...

I don't see it being TOO hard. Photo gallery websites have very basic structures... just gotta have the eye for a design (which I do, as a past graphic designer).

Also, where can I get in contact with?

Download Jalbum and install the BananAlbum skin.

So simple it's brainless.

It's what I use for my personal pics site I share with friends and family.

I don't know what your asking. You want someone to do wedding photos or you want to put photos on the web like a flash slideshow.

Either way go with a college student. They are pretty cheap, expendable and you can take advantage of them easily. They have plenty of time and do work that pretty up to date. They are like legal mexicans.

I resent your assessment of college students!

But it is spot on. :D

Pretty much. Through the loading bullshit and stupid useless animation bullshit I saw 1 picture in the 15 seconds I was there and got annoyed that sound MIGHT have been playing (didn't have my headphones on to know, but I saw a little volume thing.)

Flash is, by far, the worst option for a portfolio website that showcases anything but your flash/animation skills.

wow, get off dial up and that wont be an issue. the front loading is so the show flows seamlessly, but isnt a requirement. you can load the pages as they show and get rid of the loading time up front. the sound was damn near instant when i allowed the page to run in firefox and it reloaded, and im on a work system that is distributed and fairly slow most of the time.

I'm on at work on broadband. Just because your E-Penis requires you to try and brag about your internet connection speed doesn't mean that my connection is slow. Regardless, you don't want to turn potential customers away that MIGHT be on dial-up just because you want a "SUPER DUPER RAD" flash site. There was NO alternative for an HTML only version of the site. If you want to talk usability and accessibility that's fine with me, but it seems to me like one of us considers that sort of thing and the other doesn't.

Especially with photography, everyone is a potential customer. Targeting only people that have broadband access is a stupid business decision.

Not so long ago (2 to 3 yrs) I was a college student. Now, I have a professional job. I understand the value of my work and back then I would do anything for money. Now I'm not that easy anymore.

So now you're not covered by the aforementioned description. We're talking about current ramenbacks, not former ones.

flash is good for showing off media, but horrible for seo and social advertising

that site could be equally impressive and only use flash moderately while keeping the site usable (html pages instead of one page with one flash movie)

It's a website hosted by BluDomain.com. They usually run $100-$400 for the template plus hosting (unless you host it yourself)

yeah, i'm not even on dial-up and i was still annoyed by the slow slideshow and music. i don't think i even made it to the portfolio button before i closed the window.

however, this type of design might work for you if you specialize in wedding photography... chicks are wowed by this kind of crap.
