How much should I expect to pay for body work...

My 2008 Fusion was parked under a huge oak tree last fall, and unfortunately, it got pelted by acorns. It's my own fault (parked it over night, next day was windy...), so I'm willing to pay out of pocket to get it fixed, but man it's depressing to look at the thing now. Especially with the dark blue metallic paint, it shows up really bad in the sun light. It's very superficial and the fix would be cosmetic only, but I'd love to smile at my car again. 😉

It's covered in dozens of minor dents on the hood, roof, and trunk, similar to very small hail. They're dime-sized and not very deep.

Also, if there are any tools that I could try for myself with a decent success rate, I'd give it a shot. One person told me they'd expect only $300 or so for the repair. If that's the case, I'd have it done in a heartbeat. I'm just afraid it'll be more like $800+.

You need to contact a paintless dent repair co. and get an estimate. It's amazing what some of these repair guys can do and it's not that expensive.

Body work is always more expensive than you think. Best to take it to several different shops to get free quote. Also, look up reviews for the shop before you decide. Quality of work should come first before cost in body repair.

This, talk to a Dent-Wizard or the like in your area. Dents left by acorns shouldn't be a problem for them.
