How much should I be mad at myself for this RAID setup...?

Unfortunately in a bid to save money I purchased a single channel Highpoint 133 Rocket controller as opposed to the two channel version. I'm very tight on money and I was also not as educated as I would have liked to be about RAID when I made the purchase. How much of a performance hit will there be from the single channel setup? I have both drives on separate cables but now I don't even know if that matters. Should I spend more money and get the two channel card? (<--trying to avoid returning the other card and all that hastle.) Any opinions / support is appreciated.

Yeah, that's a very similar card except that one has 2 channels, mine only has 1. I'm worried about how that will affect performance... 🙁

EDIT: I'm ordering a 2 channel card tomorrow 🙁 Oh well, live and learn...
 
I was told by someone else that the drives would not be able to be accessed in parallel because of the 1 channel restriction. Is this true?
