how much RAM for xp mce 2005?

using win xp mce 2005 on 512 mb of ram. I have 77MB available of memory and my PF usage is 390mb. Does that mean if I added another stick on 512 mb ram, i wouldn't have a page file and hard disk would stop clicking? Using toshiba m115-s3094 w/ core duo. where's cheapest place to get memory? Should I add 512 or add a stick of 1gb?
 
Same here. 1GB.

There technically isn't really any place to get cheap memory anymore. More or less pick the lowest you can find. Memory prices are inflated right now...so good luck with that. Any value ram should do just fine.

You can shop online, but honestly I think the prices are getting much closer to those you can pick up at your local computer store.
