how much radiation do TDMA phones emit when in standby?

Considering that even when transmitting the phones don't emit enough radiation to matter in any way at all I seriously doubt that it matters at all even to insects when the phone is in standby.

A lot less than in talk. Like every digital phone, they only "check in" with the tower every few seconds, with each transmission only lasting a few mS.

(Seriously, I wouldn't worry too much about it.)

yeah...I'm sure it's a very small power level, I was mainly wondering how often, because like optoman said. I mean if I keep it in my pocket every waking hour, that adds up to a pretty large dosage of radiation.
I just need something smaller than a pda, with a vibrating reminder to remind me about appointments and stuff. a cell fits the bill, but I don't think I want that radiation- especially since I have a condition that makes it easier for me to get testicular cancer than most people.
