How much power will an OC'd E2160 use over say a E8400? and Q6600?

I'd like to run a cool quiet system, but as I was settling on the E2160, I was wondering how much power an OC'd E2160 use compared to a E8400 or Q6600? I currently have a Pentium D 930.

It depends how far you overclock it, and also what voltage is used to reach such an overclock.

For the common 3GHz @ stock volts overclock, it shouldn't run any hotter than 65W. If you increase the voltage however, power consumption shoots up pretty fast, and you could easily have a 100W chip on your hands.

For comparison a Q6600 probably maxes out at around 90W whereas an E8400 only uses about 30W under full load.

Well, if that calculator is to be believed (linked above) the Q6600 and the Q9450 OC'd to the same speed (which mine are) and at the same vcore (which mine are) The Q9450 uses 152 watt's and the Q6600 uses 155 watt. It says my full system requires 254 watt, but I am not sure I can believe that, since I have had problems with a 450 watt on my OC'ed quads.

I think its fair to say that it could take 75-100 watt more than his OC'ed 2160 to run a OC'ed quads, or 50-75 watt more for a 8400. (playing with the calculator again)
