How much power is enough.

I have a 350w power supply that came with my case from 3DCool.com. I got it about 2 years ago, but now i got this Gigabyte A7VXP+ mobo with all this onboard crap, three HDD humming away, 5 case fans, a CDRW, DVD player, intellimouse (powerd by the usb port), and an ATI 9700pro that comes with its own moltex connector (if thats not ghetto i dont know what is).

THe question is that with all this crap, and more crap in the foreseeable future how much longer can my trusty 350w powersupply hold out.. I tend to upgrade in spurts (bi-yearly) so if the concerted opnion is that the ps is fine then i wont be fingering it if i get random reboots or flaky stablity if I add any more components.

If it's a quality PS (like Enermax or PC Power and Cooling), then it should be able to handle a load. I have about the same things you do and I'm running a 400W PS.

I bought from heatsinkstore.com a 500watts for under $65. Been running great for a few days now.

A 400W PSU would be more then enough to run that. You could jump to a 450W if you want to.
Thats like adding a spoiler onto the back of a Civic, it does sh!t.
