How much power does your hi-fi use when off/standby?

Both hi-fis I own were made in the nineties, and I don't think the manufacturers were as concerned about power efficiency as they are these days. The smaller of the two uses 10W when it's 'off' (ie. only showing the clock on the display), the bigger one uses 22W. In contrast, my 2010 TV doesn't even register on my wattmeter (sometimes the meter shows a 3W 'spike' but it isn't regular, making me think that it doesn't reliably measure usage that is probably below 5W).

Just about anything from the last couple years will use less than 1W in standby. Last 10 years or so might have some devices using 2-3W in standby. 10-20W in standby on components from the 90's doesn't seem unreasonable; I've seen some people mention that range before for older stuff.

Even pro audio amps are pretty low. I have a KM750 with an active fan and it only uses 15w. My old Rane MA 6 uses 70w at idle.
