I've seen a lot of numbers about how Virtu MVP's Virtual Vsync and Hyperperformance improves framerate, but I haven't seen evidence of their claim of reduced power consumption.
In fact, I haven't really seen many power stats at all for Virtu MVP. Here's one though that claims that i-mode idle doesn't actually consume less power than d-mode idle http://www.behardware.com/articles/858-2/lucidlogix-virtu-mvp-in-action.html.
I thought the point of i-mode was that Virtu MVP would be able to power down the discrete card when it's not needed, switching to use integrated graphics. Or is it that the discrete card is actually idle but on? Does anyone have actual wattage numbers for i-mode vs d-mode? And would anyone with better knowledge of this be willing to explain what happens?
Thanks!
