How much power does the xbox consume?

My friend is going to buy the Xbox in US (110V) and is going to take it to india (220V). There are two converters he saw, for less than 50W, and over 50W. I am guessing it is over 50W, but just to make sure. I am also guessing that he can use the over 50W one for less than 50W as well. Is that correct?

I posted this question in the cpu section, but someone suggested this forum. Thanks in advance.

I am sure the over 50W one will work. Don't know xbox power requirements off the top of my head.

When in doubt, always get a power source with a higher maximum.

It isn't going to hurt anything.

I can't see that thing drawing 50 watts. Doesn't someone have one they could look at the back plate where the Model # and stuff are?
Yes, the over 50watt would work.

Thats the operating Voltage range... is there another one? Say 100 VA or something like 100 watts or .1 A ??

Of course this only works for true resistive loads, so the xbox is going to be even higher than this.

For wattage you can't use Ohm's law. P=V*I, so power = 2.1 * 115 = 240W
I'm sure that's the maximum power drain as it seems pretty high, but the >50W one is definitely needed.

get a 160watt inverter, they cost like 25 bux:p

50 watts couldn't handle my laptop, let alone an xbox.

Thanks a lot guys. You've been a lot of help. I am going to ask my friend to get the 'over 50W one'. Thanks again.
