How much power does a hub use?

This is a silly question, but I have a hub that I use maybe once a week to access another computers files/printers. It gets hot after a while. I want to know should I just leave it on or should I pull plug when not in use.

have no fear 'bout leaving it on 24-7, they're made for that purpose...most of them get hot, but that's why bigger ones have fans...i'm sure a smaller hub has heatsinks built into it to avoid any heat related problems.

Don't worry, they all get warm after a while, but they're made to run 24/7. Actually, right now, I have two 8 port switches that came with small fans in them to keep them cool. The fans made so much noise that I opened up the switches and yanked out the fans. Now they're dead silent (of course). The switches are still very very cool to the touch even though they get heavy traffic and run 24/7.

This is not recommended, but my point is that they can be left on all the time.
