Hi, Assembling:
Abit KR7A 133 raid mobo
2 x 40 gig IBM 7200's
2 x HDD cooler fans mounted infront of drive bay.
2 x Seagate Cheetah 18 gig 10k's
another 2 x HDD cooler fans
1 x 8cm chasis fan off mobo
Sony CD-Rom
FDD
Matrox G450 VGA
Creative Live audio
Adaptech 29160n SCSI card
Pinnacle DV500 capture card

Will a 250 watt PSU do??? if not should I go 400 immediately for potential upgrades, (more SCSI's - yummie) or will 300 do the trick for a while. Thanks in anticipation.

i would think an upgrade would be in order. My sparkel 300w handled 4 scsi hd's a 1g bird at 1.3, 512, aiw radeon, and so on. you should be able 2 pick one of them up easly enough and cheap enough. otherwise maby an antec dual fan or something.

Greg Thanx. maybe you could help me with a question I've just posted in the 'periferals' section of the forum regarding SCSI IDing on converters. Thanx.

If you have the cash, get more than you need. I jumped straight to the Antec 840 case and PS when I upgraded. I could have probably gotten by with less than 400 watts, but for the extra few bucks I have some peace of mind. That was worth it.

Get a 400W, Antecs are the best. I have an Antec 400W PP412V supply, works for Pentium 4 and AMD, it has a power off switch in the back, and it also has adjustable pots for the 12 and 3/5v rails, which comes in handy when your a heavy overclocker with lots of stuff in your case.

250w supplies are definetly dated now for newer systems, I wouldn't get anything less than a 300w, but a 400w is not much more, the antec is around 70 retail, and will last you thru your next few upgrades.

Actually from seeing your setup, with 4 hard drives, and 2 of them being 10K RPM (which are power suckers big time) I wouldn't get less than a 400W, cause you may have trouble running all that stuff at 300 and below.

Thanx all! Just invested in a 400watt mother. Now, all I got to do is just put it all together...and see.
