how much power do i need

in my case i have a
250 watt p/s
2 x h/drives
1 x c/d rom
1 x burner
1 x floppy
1 x cel 533 o/c to 824 meg
1 x abit bx6 m/b
I think the p/s carn't handel the current
do i need a 300 watt or a 400 watt p/s to over clock moor and keep stable
? how many watt's is all this stuff using any way
can some one please explain
 
It really depends on the 'quality' of the PS, i.e., on its detailed specs. It is probably OK, and you shouldn't need anything over 300 watts in any case. If you are going to get a new PS, go to AMD's website and find their list of Athlon approved PS's and get one approved for their fastest chip - they've tested them - the Athlon is a real power hog.

In the meantime try the 250 and if it don't break, don't fix it.

The reason i was asking is when i over clock to the next step witch is 112 fsb at 896 meg it is un stable i have to set the v core to 1.95 v but in the chipset features were the v core and temp are recorded the v core is only 1.84 v so there is a lack in the supply and i know this because i have tested the same cpu in a bh6 board with a 300 watt p/s and it recorded .2 volt higher than what was set in the bios so i was after a brake down of what the p/s is supplying to each part and what voltage and current the cpu runs on 3.3 v
5.0 v
so i can choose the right p/s for the job
