How much power do I need?

Hi all,

I would love some advice on what PSU I should by, here is what my PC will look like

EVGA 780i SLI
Intel Q6600
EVGA 8800 GTS 512 crysis edition x2 SLI
2GB of Corsair Dominator 8500
4 hard drives
Scythe S-Flex 120mm fan for CPU and 4 other case fans
DVD Writer

I was thinking of 3 PSU's
- OCZ GameXStream 850W ATX12V 24PIN SLI Ready Active PFC ATX Power Supply 120MM fan
- Thermaltake Toughpower 850W ATX 12V V2.2 Quad SLI Ready Power Supply Modular Cables 140MM Active PFC
- Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W ATX12V 20/24PIN Quad SLI Modular Power Supply Active PFC 8PIN PCI-E

I don't really know if 850 would be enough so I'm hoping someone here could lend me a hand. The reason I jumped over the Thermaltake 1000w PSU was because it's only $6 more for the 1200w.

I think that sums it up.

Thanks!

Thermaltake Toughpower 850w is plenty. Although, there are other options as well, that might be even better.

I'm open to suggestions.

Here's something cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817171024 but still a qaulity PSU. It's even cheaper here: http://www.pcclub.com/product_...ls.cfm?itemno=A6296671 for $50AR !!! You could look into a corsair 750tx, and there's nothing wron with this one either: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817153036 Oh, and a 650tx will also power your proposed rig just fine. It all depends on how much money you want to spend and how much more headroom you want. The etasis unit is very good btw, but will be a bit louder then these other PSU's, coz of it's 80mm fan. It's one the best qaulity psu's you could possible get though.

Corsair HX520 looks like a match for your system. No need for more power with that rig. Even if you OC it to the max it's not consuming over 450W.

Thanks for all your help guys at least I now know I don't need 850+ and thus save a few bucks.

Much appreciated.
