I just have to ask. How much performance will I see going from a 9800XT (flashed from pro) to dual 7800GT's in SLI (as in Opty rig in sig) :p

(i'm guessing it's a lot)

Not had experiance with the 7800 SLI.

But.. I'm guessing.. It'd be like going from a socket seven 450 to a socket 939 X2 4800+

Just a guess, though. Best way to find out is get some 3dMark 7800 SLI scores and a 3D mark score with yours, might give a round about demonstration. :p

Well, 3dmark05 goes from about ~4500 (9800), to ~12000-14000 (SLIed GT's). I'm guessing more realistic #'s would be 12000 for GT's SLIed.

You would see an enormous performance increase. Playing games on max or close to max settings with it being silky smooth...can't beat that.

<12k likely in 05'

I barely got over 14k with a pair of GTX 512's @ 600/1800

1 512 was good for 10.9k though :D

I don't think you'll regret that big of a jump in performance. ;) GL

I think 3dmark05 just becomes CPU limited at some point, like all the older versions did. I get 134xx (can't remember the last two) with my GTs at 530/1200, although I run them a little lower for daily use.

Show me a 9800XT that will pull down 4500 3DMarks in 05 and I'll show you Jesus's video card.

QFT, 9800 level cards oced or not score under 2800 in 05 99% of the time.

thats a high score for a 9800xt!

I'd be suprised if you can find a game that can't be maxed out! If i max out FEAR settings on my 6600gt (stock 500/900 agp) even it gets a 18fps average in the test. That combo is 3-4 times more powerful so it should get 50fps or more with ease. They get ~100fps at high settings. Link
