How much performance gain will I get from using two channels for RAID0?

I have 2 seagate 5400rpm ata-66 hard drives in raid0. I connect them both using only 1 ata-100 cable. In Sandra I get a Drive Index of 15000. By how much will using 2 cables increase my performance?

I'm guessing it won't be that much different cuz I don't think you're saturating the channels using 5400 rpm drives, but i really don't know. Try it, it'd be interesting to know.

You also have to cinsider that IDE lets only 1 drive per channel access at one time, so you might have slowdown waiting.

They are just 5400RPM drives though. How fast are they on thier own?

The only direct difference between 5.4K RPM and 7.2K RPM is seek time.
