How much performance difference is there between 9500 Pro and 9700 Pro?

Percentage wise, how much performance improvement will I see with a 9700 Pro? My current score with 9500 Pro is around 10,500 (3Dmark 2001SE).

Thank you.

I'm going to say about 15-25% depending on the game your running and what level of system you have.
I have owned both of these cards,(actually I had a 9500 pro and a 9700 np) and still have the 9700np.
The 9700np clearly stomps on the 9500 pro. So a 9700pro can only be better than that.

What is your CPU/platform? What detail levels do you like using in games?

With a fast enough CPU you should see a 50%-100% performance difference between the two cards when you crank up the eye candy in games.

Not sure how to compare. If you base on only 3Dmark 2001SE, my 9700 pro gets 16656 with default settings and Omega 3.5 cat driver.

EDIT: Hmmm... My old 8500 gets 10686 with 3dmark 2001SE.

I would stick with the 9500 and wait for the next generation. This gen of cards runs the next gen games like ass even the 9800 pro only gets like 40FPS in half life 2. Wait for the next gen of cards.

Thank you! I'll hold out.

My system specs are not too impressive.

AMD 1700+ XP
768MB DDR266
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe

RememberL that there will always be new/better card around the corner. When the next gen cards come out ppl will already be talking about the "new cards" just around the corner. If you truely want to wait for next gen, i.e. ATI completely redesigning their GPUS/memory, you are in for a long wait...

Go Cubs 😉

I would love to see Cubs versus Red Sox in the World Series. Of course, we all know who would win this match... *hint* Red Sox....

I'll wait until Christmas to see which card will be right for me and also how it runs Half-Life 2.
