i'm fed up of e-mail at work that is completely useless to me. i think 1 out of every 5 emails is actually relevant/targeted to me. all the rest are just crap from the management and other departments and have absolutely no relevance to me.

if the idiots spend a little time to make it targeted and not e-mail it to one of their pre-made lists of contacts, this problem would be greatly reduced.

Barracuda Spam Firewall catches 98% of my SPAM. Whatever gets though I teach it to block next time. So I guess 2% of the total is valid email that is actually delivered to my inbox.

Most of the anti spam machines also catch legit mail.

Postini works pretty well for us so far.

Only about 10%. Most concerns the status of the current project and things that need to be done, as well as correspondance with other developers.

Hasn't really been a problem. White and Black Lists function pretty well as well as the SPAM scoring plus the updates they put out for the unit itself.
