I'm not asking for guys that just heat stuff like TV-dinners asf, but for ppl that really cook eg. making a three to six dish dinner for friends just for fun. Asian, Italian, French style ? Especially cajun and all "American"(I know there's no genuine american cooking, just a mixture of all the stuff I mentioned before) recipes welcome.

You came to the right place.

Salmon always makes a nice presentation. Baked pastas are easy and taste great. Tell me what you have in mind and I'll set you up.

I love to cook for people! I'm such a show off. ;)

No doubt, TFP

I met my husband at work and brought in my homemade baked ziti. He was at my house every night after that!

I cook. But dude....a 6 dish meal? Give me a break. But yes, I get it from my parents. They are both EXCELLENT cooks. When I moved out, I got the to teach me everything they know. Now I can cook the HELL out of some things... My specialties are spicy things...things that will give you heartburn. Things that would give a PEPCID TABLET heartburn if it could eat. Just ask Chef0083.
But I can also cook all sorts of other things...Italian, Chinese (mostly just stir-fry, but I do make it from scratch), and your standard Southern fare.

P.S.-- TB, guys often WANT a second date after they find out you are a 50-yr. old man? ;)

DesignDawg is right... You don't have to kill yourself to prepare a good meal.

The question is this:

How many people are you cooking for and how much do you want to spend?

Tell me that and I'll make it easy for you, recipes and all.

I've got to be good for something, since I totally suck at being a cyber-tease.

ISLA what about bruschetta, french onion soup, nice litle salad with roasted bacon croutons and a balsamico dressing, lemon sorbet to relax, Lamb fillet with a rosemary sauce and potatoe gratin and creme caramel to finish with.

Damn typing takes a little time for me, so I'm late. I just wanted to collect stuff. OK next time I want to invite friends and neighbours to a surprise dinner, not telling them it would be dishes based on US recipes. Have an "American" dinner and them not knowing. Everybody over here is so prejudiced they would't come if I told them.

I'll have to dig for a lamb recipe (I'm semi vegetarian, but I should have something)...

That sounds fabulous. It will cost a pretty penny, mind you!

Hagen Daz has a lovely lemon sorbet that I use when I entertain. Paul Newman has a nice balsamico, but I usually mix my own.

The creme caramel will be tricky.... but not impossible!

That's it....

I want to be the Julia Child of the Board!

Love to cook!!

Always cook for my dates but then I can never get rid of them!!

Most women I have dated were terrible cooks but then again there were other benifits. Great Chefs of the world mostly men.

Dont think gender has anything to do with it at all. Had some terrific meals at girl friends homes. I know I just contradicted the last paragraph but Give me a break and get a sense of humor.

Worst part, cleaning up. Ill cook any day compared to cleaning up.

nick,

you are mistaken about the "american cooking"

Lets see, crab gumbo, baked Ham, mashed potatoes & ham gravy, oyster & rice dressing, turnip greens, corn bread & rolls, green beans, salad with ripe tomatoes, apple pie, etc makes a fair meal.

head down to the used book store & pick up a copy of the JOY of COOKING & Better Homes & Garden "NEW COOK BOOK"

These 2 will tell you how to cook & a recipe for most anything you can think of. This is standard fare & not glitzy wimp food.

If you have any ducks left in the freezer from last season, you can do baked duck, dressing, wild rice, steamed asparagus, candied yams, rutabega, etc

Watch a few Justin Wilson cooking shows. Boil some shrimp, potatoes, carrots, corn, etc.

Then maybe you could deep fry a small turkey, potatoe salad, beans, rice & gravy, etc.

There are a lot of options here...

<< edit>>

I was typing & then saw Deutschland in your later post... no used American book stores.. Hmmmn . What part of Germany... Pork is big in the South.

Barbecue will go over big & is not too hard to do from scratch... How formal ?

Can scan & send or Post recipes on a web site for you to down load if you know what you want to do...

My Dad is an awesome cook and taught me everything he knows. My mom, well... not so good.

Dad was a fireman... they usually rock in the kitchen. Mom was a science teacher. Need I say more?

Hey kids, try this new recipe!

Run away, run AWAY

My specialty is Italian and 'American' food. I've always enjoyed cooking, but wouldn't want to do it all the time. My girlfriend ( soon to be fiancé ), on the other hand, might be able to whip up some grilled cheese on a good day, and not much beyond that. She can't iron or wash clothes either. I'm still trying to figure out why I want to marry her. ;)

She sure is a cutie though. :)
