How much of a performance increase would I see going from a Asus P4B266-C to a ALBATRON INTEL 845PE ?

Since this motherboard is only $94 or so shipped I was thinking of getting it if I would see a decent performance increase. Heres the rest of ym System specs

Intel P4 1.6A @2.1Ghz
1GB of PC3000 Mushkin memory
120GB WD SE HD
Geforce 4 TI 4600
Sound Blaster Audigy

Very little if any at all. You are running ~ 131 FSB and have the mem ratio set for 3:4? If not, be sure you are. This will give you a nice speed bump above 1:1 mem ratio. On that board, it is only available 132 and below FSB.

actually i get slower performance at 132 wtih 3:4 ratio some reason


Gona test again to make sure i wasnt seeing things.

I mean if i got that board would i see like 5-10fps increase in games atleast?

132 FSB 3:4 should be quite a bit faster than 133 1:1. PE wont be noticeably faster.

ya your right. tested again and i gained 250 3dmark scores and 1fps in UT2k3 in botmatch and 10 in flyby
